About this tour

With this 3 day excursion in the Merzouga desert that ends in Marrakech, enter the vastness of the desert and live a unique adventure discovering places as beautiful as Ouarzazate or the Erg Chebbi dunes. You will forever remember the magnificent landscapes of Morocco!

Highlights

The first night , we will stay in Dadès and the accommodation will be the same for the standard and superior options: Dar Essyaha, Babylon hotel, Le Vieux Château hotel, Kasbah Tifawen or similar.
The second night will take place in a camp with haimas in Merzouga . The difference between the standard category and the superior category (Azawad Luxury Desert Camp or equivalent), while the superior category has bathrooms private. In addition, depending on the category you choose, the menu and the decoration of the interior of the jaimas change.
The standard and superior camps are completely separate , and in addition to the distinction in the bathrooms , there are differences in the food and interior design of the haimas.
For all accommodation, the rooms are double or, if you prefer, triple or family.

Itinerary

We will meet at 8:00 a.m. and leave the hustle and bustle of Marrakech to go to Ouarzazate . During the trip, which will last about 4 hours, you will enjoy the spectacular landscapes of the Atlas and cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass culminating at more than 2000 meters. Halfway, we will stop at the ksar of aït-ben-Haddou, which you surely know thanks to films like Gladiator or The Kingdom of Heaven. After this short break, you will continue the excursion until you reach Ouarzazate , where you will be amazed by the Kasbah of Taourirt . You will then take the road of the Thousand Kasbahs towards Skoura until you arrive about half an hour before sunset at the Valley of Roses , the preamble to our destination: the Dades Valley. This is a unique place where you will spend the first night (sometimes we may stay in Skoura).

It is with the first rays crossing the Dades gorges that you will have breakfast to regain your strength. We will take you to the Dades Valley . Once there, you will cross the spectacular Toudra Gorge while enjoying the incredible panoramic view of the valley. You will then take the road to Merzouga crossing the palm grove of Jorf , famous for having the best dates in Morocco. You will break for lunch before heading to Erfoud , a small village known for its fossil fragments. A unique place! After visiting Erfoud, the trip will continue to Merzouga . Once there, you will change vehicles to ride a camel through the desert to the camp where we will sleep. Once settled, you will let the darkness of the night and the silence of the desert surround you while enjoying an authentic Moroccan dinner in Erg Chebbi , under the stars . One of the most unforgettable experiences of the trip!

Can you think of a better way to start your last day than by watching the sunrise in the desert ? You will live an unforgettable experience and admire the reddish hues of the sun on the dunes. But before that, you will enjoy breakfast at the camp. after breakfast we will take our retourn to marrakech.
