Merzouga is a desert town located in the southeast of Morocco, near the Algerian border. It is well known for its stunning sand dunes, which rise up to almost 500 meters high and are a part of the Sahara Desert. The main attraction of Merzouga is the Erg Chebbi, a huge sand dune that attracts many tourists from all over the world to experience the breathtaking beauty of the desert. Visitors can take a camel ride into the heart of the dunes to spend a night under the stars in a traditional nomad tent. The sunset and sunrise are particularly spectacular in the desert, and the quiet and peaceful atmosphere is a stark contrast to the bustling cities. In addition to sandboarding, trekking, and star-gazing, there are also several Berber villages and kasbahs nearby that can be visited to experience the traditional way of life in the desert.
